James transformed most of the rooms in our house - stud walls, oak flooring, hanging doors, bespoke wardrobes, fitted kitchen to name a few. Very professional, quick and clean worker. Managed the trades very well and stuck to the timings and budget. Conversion of part of garage to provide study. Involved new block work wall, cutting access opening from living room, hanging two doors, plaster out, new window in outside wall and electrics. Highly recommended.

I first used James 6 years ago to cut a new roof on a 6000f2 house. He worked continuously on the project for over a year and I soon discovered that he is a talented carpenter who can successfully turn his hand to any joinery task. More recently, he has been the sole contractor and project manager for restoring the old skittle alley at The White Horse in Compton Basset in to a multi-purpose function room for the pub. During this project, he completed all tasks associated with the restoration of the building: demolition works, cutting a new roof, fitting insulation, plasterboard, stud walls, new floor joists and solid oak boards, all windows and doors, 2nd fix carpentry and fitted the kitchen. James also completed all the plastering. Throughout the time I have employed James I have found him to be a skilled and competent builder. He has also proved to be reliable and honest; I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Yates Carpentry has just completed our loft conversion. James tackled problems proactively, coming up with solutions and achieved great results. Excellent work, very hard working and highly recommended.

Wow, what can I say? We had a really excellent experience with Jimmy from start to finish; extremely helpful, great time management, tackled problems that arose creatively, managed various trades and kept us constantly updated on his progress, making our vision a reality. The carpentry and quality of the finish was really great and we have already received some wonderful comments from family and friends.
